Capitol Hill, DC — Our Story

The Second Address has a dual meaning. First, we want to be your “second home” — a place for friends, celebrations, and new connections. Second, we’re inspired by Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address: “With malice toward none; with charity for all…” — a spirit of openness and kindness.
Located on Massachusetts Ave. NE near Union Station and the Supreme Court, we sit where Washington’s political and personal worlds meet.
Our family has long been part of Capitol Hill, and this space is our culinary tribute to the community we call home.

Join us for breakfast, lunch and a wide selection of coffees and teas.
We prioritize fresh, farm sourced ingredients.

We serve breakfast and lunch in our charming 2nd floor dining room, on the patio and 1st floor cafe. Our coffee lounge provides a quieter space to sip, read, work or simply enjoy the view.
We prioritize fresh ingredients that support farmers. We are proud to work with Lancaster Fresh Farm Cooperative, Counter Culture Coffee and Rishi Teas who share our passion for food and farmer empowerment.
All the meat on the menu is Halal. Cheeses are vegetarian/ made without animal rennet.
